Leather Celestial Journal
I recently acquired several of these very scarce, 19th-century steel buttons featuring shining crescent moons, and they’ve inspired this small batch of pocket-size leather journals!
Each one is made with leather remnants and offcuts purchased from another maker, and are unique and (perfectly) imperfect in texture and character. They are all filled with 144 pages of 80 lb Strathmore recycled drawing paper, hand-cut for a lightly deckled edge. It’s a nice weight, soft white, and acid free - it’s perfect for writing, drawing, and light watercolor washes.
Each journal is sewn with polished linen thread for durability, and opens completely flat.
Some of the journals are created from two different pieces of scrap leather, joined in the back with decorative stitches.
